The George at Backwell, is a lovely dog friendly country pub just a short walk away, in the current circumstances I recommend booking a table in advance and you will find all the details on their website https://www.thegeorgeatbackwell.com

Also in the village is Backwell House, a lovely country house hotel with restaurant https://backwellhouse.co.uk and The Rising Sun, another dog friendly pub serving good food with a nice beer garden at the back https://www.ohhpubs.co.uk/the-rising-sun

Further afield, well 6 miles to be precise, you'll find the splendid Ethicurean restaurant, terrific food served in a rather ramshackle former orangery, set within a magnificent walled garden with views over The Mendips to die for. http://www.theethicurean.com

Bristol has long enjoyed a reputation as having one of the best food scenes in the UK, I couldn't list them all here but a couple of my favourites are The Bristol Lido https://www.lidobristol.com. Where else can you take a dip, steam, sauna, get a massage, eat and drink whatever the weather, and the food and drink is always superb and I highly recommend.

For an out of this world dining experience head for Casamia, Bristol's Michelin starred restaurant, or its equally fabulous sister restaurant Paco Tapas, both situated on the harbourside in Bristol https://www.casamiarestaurant.co.uk and https://www.pacotapas.co.uk
